I’m a senior computer scientist at a non-profit R&D firm. I love my job, and I get paid to do fun stuff. One of the fun stuff things is evaluating new technologies, processes, and techniques, for potential inclusion in our expanding understanding of software-engineering best practices. The upshot of this is that I get to mess around with cool new tech or strange algorithms, and if I think it’s cool, everyone else uses it too. Woot.

I’ve been working there for over five years and don’t plan to leave any time soon.

After nine years, I left for greener pastures and am now working for an internet services company that makes, among other things, a popular search engine. It’s pretty great in all sorts of ways that my NDA says I can’t talk about.
